SOL MEXICAN BEER

In 1899 a German brewmaster was developing a new beer in an old brewery named ‘EL Salto del Agua’ (The water spring) near Mexico City,
when a ray of bright Sunlight shone through his brew.

This event fired his imagination, leading him to name his new beer ‘EL SOL’ and the very first Mexican sunshine beer was born.
In 1912 Cerveceria Moctezuma acquired ‘EL Salto del Agua’ and in 1024 the brandd name changed from ‘EL SOL’ TO SIMPLY SOL.

Today, the original sunshine and ray designes remain virtually untouched and the proud brewing tradition behind this great brand continues.
