Varietals: Merlot (80%) Cabernet Franc (20%)
Vinification: Takes place in six 55 hectoliter, insulated, stainless steel tanks, which replaced oak vats for the 2012 vintage. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 100% new French oak barreis and aged between 16 and 18 months. Roughly 1,200 cases are produced every year.
Professional Review: Robert Parker: "The 2012 Clos l'Eglise is a beautiful blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from Hélène Garcin. She has done a phenomenal job at this estate since the late 1990s. Rich, chunky, coffee, mocha and berry fruit jump from the glass of this medium-bodied wine that shows excellent fruit intensity, soft tannins and a juicy, round, mouthfeel.
